Kanto é uma região do Mundo Pokémon localizada a leste de Johto,norte de Hoenn e Sul de Sinnoh. Foi a primeira região introduzida nos Animes e nos Games pokémon Red e Blue,Também pode ser acessada nas versões: Gold,Silver,Crystal,HeartGold And SoulSilver quando a jornadas por Johto for terminada. A Maioria dos nomes das suas cidades são de cores(Indigo Plateau,Cerulean City,Fuschia City e etc...). O Professor Carvalho distribui os iniciais Squirtle,Charmander ou Bulbasaur e também em algumas ocasiões Eevee e Pikachu. 

É Baseada sobre a Região Kantõ que significa Leste da Barreira. Diferente das outras regiões Kanto está sempre presente em todas as gerações de Pokémon, e quase nunca foi "Esquecida".
